Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I print barcodes directly with my Dymo LabelWriter?
- Yes. Export a thermal-size PDF from Bulk Barcode Generator, set the dimensions to match your Dymo label roll (e.g. 57×32mm for a 2¼"×1¼" label), open the PDF in any viewer, and select "Fit to media" in the Dymo print dialog. The barcode will print at exactly the right size.
- Does this tool export ZPL for Dymo printers?
- Dymo LabelWriter printers do not use ZPL — that is Zebra's proprietary language. Dymo printers use a PDF or their own driver. Bulk Barcode Generator exports a thermal-size PDF that works perfectly with the Dymo print driver. For Zebra ZPL, see the Zebra Label Generator page.
- What is the best barcode format for Dymo labels?
- Code 128 is the most versatile — it encodes letters and numbers and scans reliably on the small label sizes Dymo uses. Code 39 works well for simple alphanumeric codes. For very small labels (under 25mm tall), consider Data Matrix which packs more data into less space.
- How do I set the label size to match my Dymo roll?
- In Bulk Barcode Generator, select single-label PDF export and enter the label width and height in millimetres. For example, a Dymo 11354 label is 57mm wide and 32mm tall — enter 57 and 32 as the dimensions. The PDF will be exactly that size.
- Can I generate a batch of Dymo labels from Excel?
- Yes. Upload your Excel or CSV file, choose the barcode column, set your label dimensions, and download. There is no row limit — you can generate as many labels as you need in one export.
